Our Mission
At Lenox Academy M.S. 961 students are treated with love, respect, and support so that they will grow into citizens who provide these same qualities for their families, communities, and society. They tackle challenging academic and real-world problems so that they can solve the problems of the coming century. Students are exposed to a variety of dynamic experiences to find the passions that will lead them to thrive in satisfying and joyful careers. Students learn to use their voices inside and outside of the classroom so that they can advocate for themselves and their community. Lenox students find their passions and their voice to become the leaders of the next generation.

Lenox Academy M.S. 961 is a new middle in the Canarsie neighborhood of Brooklyn. For the last 30 years we have been part of P.S. 235. We embark as our own standalone middle school in 2023, building from the great foundation of P.S. 235 and growing into something even greater. Lenox Academy’s core values were created in a collaboration between students, parents and staff, emblematic of how our school succeeds together.
